It can be helpful to distinguish between the different functions contextual cues can have. Relational frame theorists often talk about two different types of contextual cues. The first is the kind of contextual cues you just learned about. They specify a relation between the stimuli, or the type of relational response likely to be reinforced. This kind of contextual cue is called a Crel. We pronounce it “see real” because it sounds really cool that way.
