If we ask Google Scholar to search the internet for academic papers written by someone with the last name ‘Kimball’ the system will call up every author with that last name, regardless of subject or topic. When conducting this type of search it is helpful to know the initials of the author.
But if we ask Google Scholar to search the internet for academic papers written by ‘JW Kimball’ the system will call up papers written by JW Smith and CL Kimball. To solve this issue, we type “JW Kimball.”
There also happens to be more than one JW Kimball who writes academic papers. To make our search MOST efficient, tell the system you only want the JW Kimball papers to be about behavior analysis. Enter ‘behavior analysis’ in the text box next to ‘with the exact phrase’ along with “JW Kimball” next to ‘return articles authored by.’
