There are also independent databases owned by publishers. For example, Wiley has their own database for all the journals (across various topics) that Wiley publishes. Springer Publishing and Taylor & Francis also have their own independent databases.
These databases WILL BE mutually exclusive across journals. That is, journals only have one publisher so journals in the Wiley database will not be in the Taylor & Francis database.
These databases WILL NOT BE mutually exclusive across topic. There is quite a bit of overlap by topic across these publisher specific databases. For example, there are education-related journals published in (and indexed in the database of) Wiley, Springer, and Taylor & Francis.
